Have you ever tried analyzing your site’s web traffic? If you don’t know how, why don’t you install google analytics in your blog. It’s easy! You may also use other tracking sites like that of Sitemeter. Wordpress has its own pre-installed stat counter and some available enhanced plug-ins. But whatever suits your need or your interest will do just fine.
So, let me share my own experience with my web traffic analysis. Though I have been blogging for sometime now, I don’t really care about those stats until recently. I am not yet on the point of being crazy about web traffic though. But the analysis will surely help you in the long run. Where does my traffic come from?

I wanted to do this earlier but just kept on postponing. I waited till the end of the month to give recognition to my regular droppers. I think now is the appropriate time. But aside from a mention and a link, I’d also like to give them entrecard credits as a bonus. So, for my top 5, I’d give them 50 ec credits each. The next five will receive 20 ec credits each. This isn’t really much but it is just my way of appreciation.

Don’t mind the question in my title. I welcome all droppers here with open arms. That is the reason why I did not place my widget at the bottom of my page. You know very well that some are doing it for the purpose of making you notice their posts first. Entrecard is basically an online advertising system wherein you use points (entrecard credits or simply ec) to pay for a 24-hour advertising space in another’s website belonging to the community. It is very helpful to small and medium-sized blogs in increasing their traffic and visibility in the worldwide web.
That 125 x 125 adspace is the most popular these days. And you can actually advertise without using real money, but just entrecard credits. You earn points by: 1) dropping 2) getting drops and 3) selling ad spaces. More innovative ways of earning points includes 1) winning in a contest 2) direct buying from sellers, 3) subscribing to the feeds of certain bloggers, and 4) getting paid for goods and services sold using ec.

So who won? I promised I’d announce the winner of my little entrecard contest last Friday night. But I was too tired coming off from an out-of-town trip. I was also out whole day Saturday because of a company outing. Between 10 pm Friday and this hour, there was no other new commenter. Probably because my site was down again for 3 days and it was restored only yesterday afternoon. I hope it will be the last of those long downtimes.
Using random.org, I listed down the names of the 9 commenters. Yeah, only 9. I remembered three other names from my previous discontinued contest but since they did not comment again, I did not include their names. I guess they’re very busy with their offline lives too.
And the winner is (drum roll please):
Keith - He wins 500 entrecard credits plus a week of 125 x 125 adspace in my right sidebar. Congratulations!

Note: This is a repost of the last entry I published before my site went into a 3-week coma. I’m doubling the prize for my mini-contest plus a week of 125×125 adspace.
This blog will be two-months old a week from now. “53.85% of advert requests declined”goes my advert approval stats. But wait, don’t spank me or be bothered by it. This blog is only less than 15 days old (net of my downtime days) in the entrecardsphere. I’ve just probably declined around 10-12 adverts.
When I first joined entrecard, even before I learned what it is all about, I noticed that my ad price was only 2ec. I didn’t want to sell my blog adspace short so I declined the first wave of adverts. When I was already comfortable with the price (around 20ec which is still cheap), I started accepting the second wave of adverts.
