This for the exams held last May 11-12 and 18-19, 2008 in the different cities in the Philippines. Where else would you find a pier that looks like a large swimming pool with white sand and crytal clear waters? For the few times I had been to the place, I really wanted to jump off the boat and into cool waters.
Bantayan Island, located at the Northern tip of Cebu, is considered as one of the most attractive tourist haven in the Philippines. It is also the favorite destination of local tourists during the Holy Week. Max Limpag wrote in his blog (and published in today’s Sunstar) that the Municipality of Argao has a free Wi-Fi access at its plaza. It is also my paternal grandmother’s hometown.

Where in the world is Cebu?
Cebu is an island in the Pacific, part of the Philippine archipelago. It is not an independent state but it is just one of the provinces of the Philippines. Cebu City is the Philippines’ oldest city, and one of the best cities to live in Asia.
Magellan discovered (or as my college history teacher puts it: rediscovered) Cebu in 1521. The people in the island, led by Rajah Humabon are quite friendly. They gladly accepted Mr. Magellan and his crew. But unfortunately, another group from the nearby island are not that welcoming. The foreigners considered it as a hostile move and started their attack. And so we just heard of stories that an arrow hit Mr. Magellan and so he died. The Philippines got its first hero in Lapulapu. But some said that the first hero killed the first tourist. Mr. Magellan did not come as a tourist but as a conqueror. Cebuanos are very friendly to tourists.
