May 2011 Philippine CPA Board Exams Results and List of Passers


The May 2011 Philippine CPA Board exam results and list of passers is now here. Exam results are released one day after its last day.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Tuesday that 2,130 out of 5,259 (40.5%) passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination given by the Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi this May 2011.

The Top Ten Examinees are the following:

The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees in the said examination as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be held before the Board on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.

Philippine Jobs For The Accountancy|Accounting Graduates

Congratulations, graduates! You’ve made it! This post is for the Accountancy/Accounting graduates who are (or who will be) looking for jobs after G-Day. To hurdle the 5-year B.S. Accountancy course is a feat in itself. I know it because I’ve been there more than a dozen years ago (though ours was a four-year course then). Congratulate yourselves too! You certainly deserve a feast.

So, what now after graduation? Should you start looking a job immediately knowing that accounting graduates are in demand these days? Or should you take the CPA Board exam first and worry about job-hunting later?

Filipino Accountants Abroad

I got this nagging email from a friend and an ex-colleague who now lives in Canada saying that I should submit my resume as soon as possible. In my curiosity, I tried to look up the recruitment agency for professionals seeking accounting jobs offshore. Seems like a credible one. I also dug my files to check on the calling card a friend brought with him when he went to work in the Grand Cayman Islands a couple of years ago. There surely are plenty of accounting jobs abroad. He once said that there are plenty of young Filipino accountants in the Caribbeans. He even wished to go back there someday.

Another offshore accounting job opportunity popped out in my email this morning: An accounting job in the UAE. I checked where they got my email, and I found out that Monster is the source. I almost forgot that I have a resume in there. This afternoon, I updated my files.
