Gmail Motion – Latest from Google
Today, Google introduces Gmail motion and it is quickly making a few happy rounds in the internet world. People are already tired of their sedentary lives in front of the PC. And perhaps Google recognized the need to put more fun into it. So, how does Gmail motion work?
Gmail Motion uses your computer’s built-in webcam and Google’s patented spatial tracking technology to detect your movements and translate them into meaningful characters and commands. Movements are designed to be simple and intuitive for people of all skill levels.
A printable guide showing all of the body motions that Gmail supports is also provided. With it, Gmail users will be able to start writing and responding to emails – with their bodies– in no time. No mouse, no keyboard. Like magic, isn’t it? Don’t be surprised if you’ll see your officemate acting weird, raising both hands in front of the PC. He’s just doing the gesture for “Reply All”. However, Google also warns that you have to take some break every 30-40 minutes to give your muscles some relief. Check out the video below to learn more of this new feature.
Google added that this new motion detection technology doesn’t stop with Gmail. Google Docs Motion will be coming later this year.
Hey, if it doesn’t work on your PC, just check the date of this post.

Anggg Kuliit nito!
Did you know that I actually went to gmail.com/motion first before commenting? I don’t how to comment on this. At first I thought it was some kind of Gmail parody or what not.
LOL! the guy doing the motion is very suspicious for making a parody!
Anyway…
Ever since Gmail launched, and transferred my yahoo to it, I already became a fan. I appreciate its clean, uncluttered, and straight forward email service. On top of that, I think Google in general is far more innovative than others.
Great post. Nice info and entertaining at the same time.
