Blogging Goals and Plans for 2010

This post is quite late considering that it’s already 20 days past the New Year. I initially wanted to post something else but the draft got stuck somewhere I could not find. The topic was about quitting, and really far far different from the title of this post.

Anyway, since goals and plans are becoming a yearly thing, I will write here my blogging goals for 2010. No copying please.

  1. Post more often – It is a fact the Google loves sites that are updated more often. Their search engines’ spiders are like saying, “oh, there’s something new there. Come let us see”.
  2. Also, blogging friends would like to see a fresh post every time they visit. No, not that new post every 8 hours about a product I endorse because I just have to make an entry to meet a certain quota. Two to three posts a week would do just fine. And it’s not necessary that friends read the whole thing. They could read a few lines and then comment like they read the whole long entry. It won’t matter to me too if the comment is on topic or off topic as long as it is not flammable nor spammy.

  3. More pillar posts – My friend Roel (aka Bloggista) talked about this more often. These posts can stand on its own in season or off season. It can drive visitors from search engines, and it can even be promoted by others because of the quality and usefulness of the content.
  4. And it won’t just be about board exams results or some of the latest Cebu Pacific promo fares. Though these posts are very useful, pillar posts are more than just copied information.

  5. Make more money online – From cents to dollars a day. Who wouldn’t want to make more money online? At least to pay for my 5 domain names, two hosting plans and the internet usage. To break even, I need at least $31 a month. See, it’s a dollar a day!
  6. Another thing, I have some serious collaboration with two other bloggers. We’re gonna change the world. Hurray for us!

  7. Promote online the offline businesses – I started that a year ago in one of my blogspots. I optimized some keywords and got 60 plus inquiries in a year’s time. But it’s kind of a half-serious endeavor because of some other plans that didn’t actually push through. To make things worse, another person, who is in the same business as ours, snapped up some of our potential clients by taking notes of their email ads and sending them unsolicited offers. The shameless girl even presented herself as our partner. Had we converted those inquiries into revenues 100%, it could have been worth at least half a million pesos.
  8. Now, I am taking another step higher. I set up a website for my Father-in-law’s furniture business, which my wife helped manage. If you are in need of a kitchen cabinet and closet installers in Cebu, then you can count on us. Here’s a picture of one of their finished works.

Let’s say, we are really serious this time around.

Now to you my friend, what are your blogging goals for the year 2010?

    7 + 4 = 11

    Hehe.

$31?!?! I can’t even make 5 dollars in a month. I know I’ve said before it has never been about the money, but when I hear people earn up to a million pesos in 1 month online, that to me is just over the top… :p

I’d be happy to earn 10 dollars a month. :p With as little effort as possible. Hehehehehe. How the heck is that done?

  2. ceblogger Says:

reyjr, the math question is easy. i wonder how i’d make it more difficult. hehe. earning $10 a month in adsense is as easy as 7+4=11. but for the monthly payout, i still have to eat more sacks of rice.

Sounds like you’ve got a good, solid plan in place. Pillar posts are always a good idea. They unchain you from your desk, you know?

Sorry those scallywags are poaching your business! For shame.

  4. Holly Jahangiri Says:

I think these are all doable, which makes them good goals to have! Stating them publicly, in writing, gives an extra push in the right direction. Now go make it happen!

“And it won’t just be about board exams results or some of the latest Cebu Pacific promo fares.” Promise? You’ll certainly get more comments from me. I read, but I have no idea what to say, half the time, because I’m clearly not a member of the intended audience. Nothing wrong with that – but I feel bad not leaving any comments at all.

Oh…I WANT that kitchen. (And I do need new cabinets soon.) Don’t think I’ll be ordering them all the way from the Philippines, but…wow. I like those in your picture.

  5. ceblogger Says:

Heather, yep these are solid plans not written in water. i need more focus this year. as to that poacher, we’ll get her soon. hehe.

  6. ceblogger Says:

holly, i’ll come up with more post next time for the international audience. or at least something that they can relate to.

and as to the kitchen, sorry we don’t deliver outside the Philippines. hehe. thanks for the appreciation!
