Missing My Posts

Wow! 32 days without a new post! This is a new personal record for me, a record which is not good at all. The long period without posting anything is like I’m slowly killing my own blog. Less updates, fewer visitors, less Google-love, lesser revenues.

In my past post about “What Keeps You from Posting Regularly?”, I wrote this:

We can make all the excuses we want, but when we fail to post regularly, there are consequences. First, you’ll lose the interest of your readers. Even our most loyal ones will look for an alternative somewhere, as there are many better blogs out there… But when everyone’s gone, it’s hard to lure them back.

Second, you will miss out on some money-making opportunities. If you are into sponsored posts, you’d miss out on opps. If you are chasing keywords, you’d be lagging behind in your optimization.

Third, which I think is very important, you’d lose your own interest and motivation. It’s really difficult to come back after a long hiatus. Of course there will always be reasons for not posting. But for the serious bloggers, there is a need to balance our time so that there will always be time to write and publish a post.

The main reason why I failed to update is: W O R K. We’re in our budget season and I have to spend long nights at work. Even though I started a draft for this post (of a different title) a week after my last post, I could not keep going. The secondary reason (after our budget season) is NOT FARMVILLE, like Jan of Writing to Exhale, but it is NINJA WARZ. I have to blame my influenza partners TWG and Bloggista for that. They had me hooked on it the last four days.

There’s no SEOsumthingsumthing in this post. Wait till I write about NINJA WARZ tricks and cheats! lol!

    Novz,

I know how hard it is to be like you.. Working in long hours and looking at numbers again and again, dang! That’s the reason you want us (your readers) to see numbers too and perform computations as well.

For a while I have been busy myself with stuff… you know moving can be so stressful. LOL

Okay, excuses once again, sorry man, force of habit. But, like you I would never let my readers down once again. Maybe a post or two a week would do?

    What do you think?

    Z

  8. bloggista Says:

Hey dude! At least now I let you beat my ninja asses so you no more excuse not to post updates here. Hehehe.

    Happy New year!

  9. ceblogger Says:

freeze, happy new year to you!

Doc Z, that would be the last of the long breaks. i’ll set new blogging goals for 2010.

That’s true. When you fail to update your blog for quite a while you’d find writing that one post a tough job. What’s that – inertia of idleness? LOL. As in any other aspect of life, there’s rhythm to blogging. And finding yourself out of step does strange things to your blogging animus. Must resolve to be more faithful with my schedule this year. :)

Roel has recruited Bonnie and you? Of course, he’s one of the reasons I got stuck in FV. If a cool problogger can do it presumably so can I. Big mistake for me. LOL. But my consolation is that I’ve so far resisted Mafia Wars. That’s my consolation, if it can be called that at all.
