Networking online and offline takes time. And like any relationship you have to invest in it but you will be greatly rewarded. You’re right Ceb, networking should also be a way to find friends not only online buddies.

bruce, i’ve done a lot of experiments in all my other blogs. there were signs of success. but it’s in sustaining them is which i encounter problems. offline work gets into the way, and the frequent downtimes this blog encountered in the past compounded the problem.

johnray, you’ve read naman my other blogs. it never ran out of comments until i shifted gears and entered into that realm of paid posts. this one i have now is already one year old and it seems like i wanted to do something more.

Something else to add about your cousin in Palawan’s BLog. I found him through the following way.
To promote my site I search for blogs by Expats, Filipinos in the Philippines and Filipinos abroad.
I read some of their posts and if I feel their site is a site I would enjoy reading, I make a comment if something I feel something about, not just to comment. I mention about being an Expat in the Philippines too.Then I hope they will visit and enjoy. Most do not bother.
I read your cousins blog and enjoyed it. Then getting to know him better I thought of myself at his age (before computers) and how I wished there was someone to assist me to improve my life.
Since I have unlimited domains, bandwidth and storage on my hosting service, I decided to offer help to him. The rest is history. Your readers can read it all at http://www.americanindavao.com and http://www.palawananecdotes.com

I am on MyBlogLog, BlogCatalog, BlogShowcase and I also joined LinkReferral, EntreCard, Agitize.
And what did that get me? Not much.
In Linkreferral you get links by visiting 30 blogs and also by reviewing 5.
So, what did I do? I did a search, such as Expat and right clicked and opened 30 blogs. Then closed most. I would find 5 I could review.
What did I get in return? The same thing. Many Hits that were on my site for 00:00 and one page view.
So because of that your bounce rate goes up, your visitor to pageview ratio goes down and nobody wants to advertise or you get the cheapest ones.
What you need is Good Content, regular entries and quick answers to comments.
Make regular readers want to come back and new visitors want to read old posts. Then they will tell friends who will tell friends.

I actually love the power of Social Networking site because the blog is capturing a lot of audience. But just like you, I can’t possibly visit them in one sitting!
