EXCELLENCE can only be achieved if we as people of this humble nation will strive for it. The lack of discipline (basura dito, basura dun, sariling basura di maitapon ng tama), rampant corruption (from the lowest to the highest position, halos lahat nangungurakot). EXCELLENCE starts with us but if we will not change our standings will never change, we will remain as losers. To all Filipino athletes.. MABUHAY!

sports is not everything. for some, a mere participation in the olympics is already an achievement. For our country, the goal is to bring home at least a medal. We won in wushu alright (an exhibition sport), a gold, a silver and two bronzes. Shouldn’t we be proud, too?

Although it’s unfair to say, but the Philippines did laid an egg in the Bird’s Nest. We don’t have real sports program. Its all about “palakasan”. If you are well connected with certain Politicians, then you get the chance to play in the Olympics and other sports events.

There are a lot of things that we must focus on than sports, this olympics, if every filipino eats three times a day, can go to school and live in a decent house then we can dream for an olympic gold. We have a lot of coping up to do.

In totality, we win some, we lose some. Although in Olympics we lost all the games but we have to remember, there are some areas in talents that we truly excel. Charice Pempengco and Lica de Guzman proved how great Filipinos are in the field of music. When they sing, the world listens. We should not forget that Philippine All Stars just won the gold in the World HipHop Dance Championship. People from 33 different countries gathered in Vegas in hopes to win the gold but Filipinos disappointed them. We can’t win ‘em all but in another side of the coin, we can rightfully shine.
