Blogging Meets: Drawing Inspiration from Fellow Bloggers

I haven’t really been to a large blogging meet (blogging EBs). Maybe the largest gathering that I’ve been too was that organized by Rhodz and Weli, way back many months ago. The money making wonders of blogging opened the eyes of the other participants. I’ve been to small meets with Bloggista and Javi. It’s a small world really, since two were boardmates many years (and pounds) ago, and found each other again on that meeting in Makati.

I get to see Cyril almost everyday and we had plenty of discussions regarding our blogging directions. More of the blogs, and less of our cubicle occupation. He recently launched his latest blog: Risk of Business, making full use of his professional knowledge in the world of business and taxation. I, too, am drawn to follow suit.

What is it with meeting with others bloggers? Is it only for socialization, a few hi’s, then back to the nooks? Blogging is often a lonely job (or even a lonely pastime). Even virtual networking and socialization could not replace the physical interaction. We may be excited at the early stages, but at a later time experience burnout. We need refueling too, and one best way is to draw inspiration from other bloggers during blog meets. Yep, we need to learn from others and hear their stories, too.

I really wanted to join yesterday’s gathering organized by Ms. Janette Toral, but my trip to Manila was postponed to a later date, most probably next week. There was also another blog meet for Cebu bloggers last Sunday. And I am not free on most Sundays. Sometimes, I’d like to attend incognito at some at some blogfest or something that goes on regularly at the Mall of Asia. Two successive Fridays I was there in Manila, but my trip back to Cebu was on the same time as the gathering starts. Hard luck!

Anyway, there will be more bloggers’ gatherings in the future. And I am aiming my sight at the coming WordCamp Philippines and the Blog Awards next month in Manila. And I hope to meet the bloggers (including the A-listers) that are in the blogroll of all my blogs combined. It’s time to meet them in person.
