UP Cebu High School Grand Reunion
I am going to meet some of my high school classmates tomorrow as we celebrate the centennial celebration of the University of the Philippines. Yes, there will be a grand reunion for our high school. Some bloggers I know, but have not met, also came from that school. I do not know who among my classmates will show up, but I’ll just be there.
It is 17 years since we moved out from the high school campus. Some just crossed the other side of the road to continue their college course. Some had moved to the bigger schools in Manila (UP Dil, La Salle and Ateneo) and some, like me, transferred to other schools in Cebu (USC, CDC, Velez). We all followed different paths, found new friends and new lives.
High school is unforgettable to most, but I am not sure with me. I don’t have the best of memories there but it certainly shaped me to what I am today. Above is a graduation picture of me and my buddies standing in front of the old college building. Maybe I’ll see one or two of the other guys tomorrow. Most of them are now based abroad. I’d be in high school mode again because I know most of us will still see each other the way we see ourselves during high school, even if we changed so much throughout the years.

ahh…high school always gives me that grin. It sure was splendid.
oh by the way, I don’t know if it is now an approved ordinance, but our City has this idea of banning motorcades as a way of encouraging people to conserve fuel.

Hey, Von. FYI, UP High Alumni can still attend the event tomorrow (or later today) without paying the P2000 or P1000 centennial fee. The event tomorrow is free for all. Only if you decide to get your Tunob or the souvenir items or attend the dinner at Waterfront Lahug will you be obliged to pay.
