Pacquiao vs Diaz Boxing Fight: A Blogging Brawl

Lethal Combination – Pacquaio vs Diaz
(Update is at the bottom)

Manny Pacquiao and David Diaz will slug it out on June 28, 2008 (June 29 RP Time) at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is one of the most anticipated matches this year as the Filipino WBC Super Featherweight Champion will take a more challenging path in the land of the lightweights and brawl with the WBC Lightweight king himself, David Diaz.

If Manny succeeds, he will be the first Asian to hold boxing titles in four different weight divisions, a very rare feat for any boxer. But Diaz is not a pushover though his wins are not really convincing. His biggest win so far was against Erik Morales in 2007. But some quarters says that the victory was not convincing. Yeah, and so was Manny’s last fight.

This is actually David’s greatest chance of retiring happily. At 31, he is considered past his prime. If he loses, he will lose plenty of money-making fights in the future, probably a short future. If he wins, his stock and boxing status will move a notch higher. Or he can just retire a champion and become a real estate guy.

My own prediction: Pacquiao KOs Diaz in 6. I think it is better to predict a knock-out than a boring unanimous win.

Blogging Brawl

It’s not really the kind of brawl you would expect in the boxing ring. Picture instead a wrestling brawl with fighters entering into the ring and trying to push each other out. The remaining wrestler who subdues an opponent inside the ring will be declared the winner.

Same is true among Filipino SEO enthusiasts. The ring is the first page of Google’s search engines. Who would land higher in SERP? As of today, certain blogs are crowding certain keywords. Obviously, they wear the “searchers mindset” in choosing suitable keywords. Who will last till the end? But ultimately, the happiest are the ones who will earn more from their ppc ads.

This blog may or may not even reach the ring. But let us just wait and see. Google has its own wonders.

Update: Manny Pacquiao Wins Over David Diaz on a 9th Round Knock-out

Manny unleashed powerful hooks and power punches from the beginning till he knocked down the solid David Diaz in the 9th round. It was absolutely a massacre as Pacman appears unscathed while his bloodied foe could no longer hold his ground.
Diaz was lying on his back for seconds as if unaware of what force had hit him. The referee jumped in and helped the beaten man, while Manny came near to see if his opponent was alright. The crowd rose in loud cheer. Manny’s corner jumped inside the ring and lifted their champ.

It is once again a celebration for Manny Pacquiao, his fans and the whole of the Philippines. Mabuhay ka Manny! Mabuhay ang mga Pilipino!

On the other hand, in my SEO experiment, this entry reached page 1 for the keyword: Pacquiao vs Diaz boxing fight.

  4. Panaderos Says:

I hope Pacquiao beats Diaz in a more convincing manner this time. He was quite tentaive with his moves when he fought against Marquez. It was clearly not one of his more memorable performances.

  5. b. rahi koh Says:

yeah…poor manny if he’ll win in an again unconvincing manner. though whatever status/reputation he already have, there are those people who really loves to bring him down (especially pinoys like him).

  6. keith Says:

Yuh sir ceb, havent graduated yet. But sooner i will be, and your invited. ahahah! Talk about pacquiao, i do agree with everyone that he needs to win convincingly or his popularity will decline. The thing with pacquiao is, murag nasubraan man gud cyag pasikat. The idea of him losing is actually a good one. Para kaamgo sad kadali. And you have to consider Diaz as tough to beat guy. Pacquiao cant afford to take him lightly for two reasons. 1.The boxer have nothing to lose, and 2. He has everything to gain.

  7. monaco Says:

I really hope Pacquiao will win convincingly this time. Knock him out, Manny. Or else suffer the consequence of more doubts from skeptics who still think your Marquez win was a fluke.

Yup, the SEO fight is shaping up into one big contest altogether. Good luck to us!

  8. ceblogger Says:

joliber, i’m so far behind. i’ll see if I can push it up a bit.

    bloggista, haha.

pan, marquez is not an easy foe. all of us are expecting bigger things from manny. even a unanimous win is not convincing enough. much more if it’s a split decision.

  9. ceblogger Says:

b.rahi.koh, if it’s only in boxing, plenty of pinoy are supporting manny. pero dili lang sa politics ug sa movies.

keith, Diaz will certainly give his best shot on this fight. A lucky punch may fly anytime.

monaco, the SEO fight is exciting. but i’m lagging behind. I need more power on this.

this fight would be very interesting, but, my bet would be on MAnny PAcquio.

    what about you?

  12. b. rahi koh Says:

nope, even in the boxing world. there are just people who are trying their best not to belong to the masa or in this case the situation calls against their personal motives. for instance, gma network won for the rights to air manny’s last fight, the result, the very first negative comments that flew against manny came from the sport commentators that are affiliated from the rival network.

maybe they think if only the tv network that won the rights over the fight could obviously means more money for them.
