Three Weeks Down: Now I’m Back!
Where was this blog for the last three weeks? Blogcebuworld.com was on comatose, HTTP error 404 and then HTTP error 500. Though the blogger was just around the corner, he redirected his blogging efforts on his other blogs.
Here’s what happened:
March 17 – Made a full back-up and at the same time posted my monthssary entry and little contest
March 18 – Upon my request, my host reset my blog due to unexplainable downtime I experienced.
March 19 – I tried restoring my full back up but I ended up deleting important files.
March 20 – 23 - Blog Fasting
March 24 – April 4 - Exchanges of tech support tickets, but the problem was still unresolved.
April 9 (11pm) – While almost giving up on tech support, I made one last effort and it worked. Of all the revival efforts I made for all those days, I didn’t know I was just one click away from resuscitating my blog. And I did that one click last night.
What have I lost?
1. I lost all my readers. The feedburner image says I have 0 readers.
2. Incoming links. I have to check out this one but I really think some have de-linked me.
3. I lost my entry on the blogging contest and the comments on it. I would make another contest with a much bigger price.
What did some of the blogger friends say about the long recovery time?
1. “Sue your host.” She’s might be serious or just kidding. I don’t think I have to do that. I have very high tolerance level and the downtime was a blessing in disguise for my other blogs.
2. “Transfer webhost.” It’s too early to do that. I’m still on my second month here.
3. “Can I help?” Thanks to Jaypee and Javi for their offer. I have not actually responded to Jaypee but I really appreciate it.
Now that I’m back, I have to leave behind the not so good experiences, move forward, regain everything that I lost, and gain more.

selaplana, it was because there were many times that i couldn’t access my site, and some of my readers complained too. But my hosts’ log and the host tracker i plugged into this site did not reflect any downtime. So, it was best to reset it.

try upgrading to 2.5 and tell me what you think. I did my one-click upgrade already. Sadly, I was expecting an improved format where my photos could be hosted but I think that isn’t going to happen with the upgrade.
