Cebu Pacific vs Philippine Airlines (PAL), how do you like to compare the two? Since I started working in the corporate world, I traveled a lot to different places in the Philippines. And I can remember that in my 14 years of working, I flew with Cebu Pacific most of the time. Yet in those rare moments I flew with PAL, I really cherished the experience. I will tell you why in the next few paragraphs. Here is my personal comparison of the two leading airlines operating in the Philippines:
FARE
Forgive me if I start with the fare. It’s the Accountant in me that triggers this fare comparison. Is Cebu Pacific the cheaper airline? Most of the time, YES! And that is if you are not carrying more than 15 kgs of luggage, and that you booked ahead of time and perhaps, you booked it on a promo period. CEB has more promo fare offers than PAL.
Perhaps you declare yourself a blog addict after writing 1 or 2 entries a week for more than a year. You gain a number of friends, subscribers, readers, influence and authority. Readers crowd on each topic you post. Your posts are quoted everywhere, from the popular to the mere copy-pasters. You’ve created three or four more other blogs of different niches, and you now start earning real money. You’re in the elite circle. You’re now enjoying stardom in twitter, Facebook, and in whatever latest social media available.
Quit Blogging
But then you pause for a minute and ponder. “What will make you quit blogging at this point in time?”
This post is quite late considering that it’s already 20 days past the New Year. I initially wanted to post something else but the draft got stuck somewhere I could not find. The topic was about quitting, and really far far different from the title of this post.
Anyway, since goals and plans are becoming a yearly thing, I will write here my blogging goals for 2010. No copying please. Read the rest of this entry »
Happy New Year 2010 my friends! In a few hours from now, my cellphone will be filled with text messages from New Year well-wishers. Half of them could be listed in my cellphone’s address book. Half would only reflect the number. “Hu u?”, should I text back? Or should I only reply with the standard, “Happy New Year, too!”?
The first New Year’s text message I got for today is from a friend who now resides in Dumaguete City. Read the rest of this entry »
Wow! 32 days without a new post! This is a new personal record for me, a record which is not good at all. The long period without posting anything is like I’m slowly killing my own blog. Less updates, fewer visitors, less Google-love, lesser revenues.
In Cebu Pacific’s latest promo, they now compete with bus and ferry routes by offering very low fares. How long will it take you to travel from Cebu to Bacolod on a non-stop aircon bus? 6-8 hours? How about that bus trip to Laoag? Road trips are definitely better if you have the luxury of time. But if you are on a tight schedule and budget, this is for you.
Pacquiao vs Cotto round by round results as imagined by this blogger. The fight will happen in less than 10 days so be sure to watch Pacquiao vs Cotto live on your PC, TV or in the nearest movie theatre. (Tickets at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas might have been sold out already, so you better watch it on pay-per-view). I don’t mind whatever prediction you have on your brains right now. This one is mine, and I am enjoying myself as I typed the words for this post.
Cebu Pacific Air‘s peso (piso) seat sale is back. This is the cheapest plane fare promo around and promos as good as this made a lot of traveling converts. If you haven’t ridden an airplane yet, this is your chance. Imagine what your P1 can do.
Last minute Halloween party costume ideas? My cousin has been invited to a Halloween party this October 31st. Venue is said to be somewhere in Alabang so I asked him if he needs some Halloween party costumes. He said “no”. I was a bit surprised. I really don’t know of a Halloween party without any costumes. Even kids these days attend Halloween costume parties organized by their schools.
Anyway, maybe he can just wear any mask to cover his face like the guy in this video. (This one is created by a badminton buddy of mine back in Cebu)
U2 free live streaming on Youtube from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. This is good news for fans worldwide. They can view the concert for free, minus the sweat of course. One band, one stage. The first global webcast concert. Aside from being free, this one is legal too.
